Manor House Wedding Photographer in Littleton, Colorado | Evan + Nikki
Evan and Nikki had such a classy wedding day and were ahead of so many wedding trends I have seen for years after the fact. They got married at The Manor House in Littleton, Colorado. It is a gorgeous historic venue just outside Denver that is easy to find hotels and lodging for guests while still getting the best views of the foothills. Not to mention, with the help of Figment Floral and the planners at the Manor House, they chose to decorate it so beautifully. They chose a gorgeous monochromatic peachy pink theme, the groomsmen wore cream-colored suits while the girls wore blush pink. The wedding party bouquets had such stunning white flowers and the bride had blush florals, such a beautiful contrast. I loved how the white colored florals popped agains the bridesmaids dresses, while the pink flowers popped so well against the brides gorgeous, white gown.
The altar was decorated with all blush florals as well which tied the whole look together. It also contrasted the background of the front lawn view of the mountains while adding a perfect pop of color to the background of the mountains beyond. The white chairs that come standard at the Manor House perfectly compliment everything throughout the ceremony space while making it look elegant and upscale.
The Library / Pool Room
The Manor House has a gorgeous historic library inside, with tall bookshelves and a lot of leather elements. The lighting in this room still provides a really gorgeous space to create timeless library photos with brides, grooms, or even just guests handing out. The guys getting ready space is just below the library and has lots of wood accents with incendescent lighting that makes for a really fun place to get ready together. The pool table is a fun spot for groomsmen and kids to hang out while the girls are upstairs getting their hair and makeup done. Because the girls get ready upstairs and the groomsmen are typically in this basement, it’s easy to hide from one another before a first look or ceremony so you don’t accidentally run into your partner before it’s time to see them.
The girls got ready upstairs in a crisp white room with beautiful chandeliers, it had a bright and airy feel. There’s a more private room within the larger getting ready room upstairs which comes in handy when you want a private moment to read a letter, let your parent zip you into your dress, or simply get dressed without 10 people in the room with you. I also love that there’s a balcony off the upstairs where you can overlook the view of the mountains and share a beverage with your friends and reminisce on days gone by that brought you to this day.
The first look with Nikki’s dad was one of my favorite moments of the day. I positioned him just in front of the windows upstairs and then let him turn around as she walked up. It was so sweet and just a heartfelt love shared between the two of them. You could tell how proud and emotional he was to see his daughter getting married. Years later I still look back on these photos and get teary-eyed just thinking about the raw emotional moment this was.
N + E chose to see each other for the first time that day as she walked down the aisle. More and more it’s fun to see people choose a more traditional wedding where they do not do a first look. It always makes for a really genuine reaction for both people. E was emotional and it was such a beautiful moment to witness and document for them. I especially like the shot where you can see his reaction of her over her shoulder down the aisle. This shot is usually only possible to get when you have 2 photographers so I am really grateful for my second shooter helping me get all the coverage throughout the day on this wedding!
We took a lot of the bridal photos inside because of how windy the day became just after family photos and the ceremony wrapped up. It was going to storm later on but we managed to sneak out at one point to get a few photos outside, too! What’s great about the Manor House is it could be a completely indoor venue because of how beautiful it is. Between the library and the gorgeous interior as a whole, it would be perfect in case of bad weather or a Denver Colorado winter wedding.
After the speeches at the start of the reception, I snuck outside with E + N before the storm started. We got some gorgeous moody photos. Many people say it is lucky to have rain on your wedding day. This wedding was no exception! They were able to have the ceremony on the front lawn of the Manor House and manage to get some portraits in the foothills of the mountains outside before the rain really started coming down. When the storm did roll in, the two did not shy away from some of the wind for a private dance on the back patio after dark. The lighting was illuminating the sky behind them as the glow of the patio string lights brought an intimate touch to this sweet moment.
Another personal favorite moment was the ice cream food truck during the reception, there were several umbrellas provided for guests to use. Friends and family danced the night away with them and I got so many fun photos of the couple with their loved ones. There was a group of folks who wanted to smoke celebratory cigars with one another. Between the dads having a moment joining their families together I love the images of the entire night bringing such a special group of people together over marriage and love.
