Fall Colors Ranch Wedding in Winter Park, Colorado | Sydnie + Cody
I don’t even know where to begin with this wedding…
Let’s start with the first look. Sydnie and I rode up to an aspen grove with vibrant yellow aspen trees in the middle of a huge mountain overlook in Frasier, Colorado just outside winterpark. We were a little concerned leading up to their wedding day that the Colorado wildfires were going to completely ruin the environment they traveled all the way from California to experience. But when we got in that day – it was absolutely perfect. No major smoke but just enough cloud cover that the lighting was diffuse and cool temperatures.
Cody drove up a little after we arrived and was wearing some b*tchin’ black boots, a bolo tie, and a custom made hat just for him. I placed Cody out in the middle of the aspens overlooking a big valley of mountains with the golden trees surrounding him. Sydnie came up shortly after behind him for their first look in a modern boho white wedding gown and fresh baby’s breath pinned in her hair. The first look was emotional and absolutely perfect.
When we got to the reception I was in shock. It was a private residence on a big ranch with a beautiful modern home. Fleetwood Mac was playing on the speakers when I first arrived to meet all the family and friends as horses ran around the land nearby under the mountain landscape in the distance. Everyone sat on hay bails that were covered in chic colorful blankets looking at Byers peak and the horses in the distance with a flowers petals lining the aisle. The ceremony was all about storytelling, advice from the older generations, and the vows exchanged between the two. There truly was not a dry eye in the entire bunch – including myself.
