LGBTQ+ Luxury Private Residence Backyard Wedding in Boulder, Colorado
There’s no more beautiful place than Boulder Colorado in the spring time. To tie in all their favorite things between the majestic landscapes in boulder, breathtaking and historic architecture, and a childhood home - this wedding had all the stops. Two brides, M and A, embarked on their journey to forever, starting with a morning of anticipation and excitement at the iconic Hotel Boulderado.
The day began with the soft hues of dawn creeping through the windows of the Boulderado, casting a serene glow upon the brides as they prepared for their special day. A room full of all their favorite gal and guy pals started off very calmly. The two were in separate rooms but not concerned about seeing one another before a big moment of first looks. They both were astonishingly calm and I think not having the pressure of not seeing one another all day had something to do with it. Surrounded by the elegance of this historic hotel, M and A shared intimate moments of laughter and love, adorned in their bridal attire. Seeing their families for the first time, and getting ready with laughter with their favorite friends.
As the morning unfolded, it was time for a private first look, once both brides got into their dresses and had a bite of lunch. SUPER important to me is to make sure that each member of a couple is fed, hydrated, and feels their best. A quiet moment on the historic staircase in the hotel was reserved just for them. Against the backdrop of this grand hotel, their hearts raced with anticipation as they laid eyes on each other for the first time that day, their love palpable in the air.
With emotions running high, the brides, accompanied by their closest friends and family, embarked on a journey to their favorite park in South Boulder for formal photos and portraits. It was a trail they had come to love in their day to day and felt like the perfect spot to enjoy with their friends and take formal photos. Many of my favorites are when everyone is just casually standing around enjoying each others company and drinking champagne.
We had just one more stop the couple wanted to make for a few quick portraits before heading to the estate for the ceremony and the remainder of the night. We went to the spot that M proposed to A at. In true fashion of spring, the field that we went to was not only sentimental but blooming with gorgeous white flowers to match the brides dresses perfectly. It was kismet and I loved how intentional they were about incorporating very sentimental places into their wedding day.
The ceremony unfolded under the shade of mature trees in the backyard, adorned with custom elements and lush florals, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Surrounded by their loved ones, M and A exchanged vows, their words a testament to the depth of their love and commitment to each other.
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to indulge in a feast for the senses at the reception. Tablescapes adorned with floral tablecloths, books, and intricate centerpieces welcomed guests, while Polaroid photos of loved ones framed in gold adorned each place setting. A whimsical book arch led the way to the large tented area where the celebration continued into the evening.
However, nature had its own plans, as rain poured down in the middle of dinner service, momentarily halting the festivities. Yet, in true Boulder fashion, the storm passed quickly, leaving behind a sense of renewal and excitement. Undeterred, guests resumed the celebration with speeches, a champagne tower, and the joyous sound of laughter filling the air.
As the night unfolded, the dance floor became a stage for moments of pure bliss, with muddy feet and carefree laughter echoing under the starlit sky. The DJ's beats filled the air, igniting the spirits of all who attended, creating memories that would last a lifetime. DJ Charan by the way - 10/10 best DJ I’ve ever heard. The crowd quite literally encored him until beyond the curfew time the surrounding neighbors had given. And then we all wanted him to come play the after party, too. He was incredibly talented.
In the end, amidst the rain and laughter, M and A's luxury backyard wedding in Boulder, Colorado, was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the beauty of embracing life's unexpected moments. As they danced the night away, surrounded by the ones they hold dear, they knew that their love story was just beginning, a journey filled with endless possibilities and boundless love.
